Sweater Art

Textiles are fun to paint on. Untreated, they interact with the paint and the brush in unpredictable ways, while the primed canvas just lies there like a loveless marriage bed. (haha. Couldn’t resist).  Depending on the fiber blend, the paint may bleed excessively, separate out the pigments or metallics, act like watercolors or not. Lively. Someday I am going to do a big wall hanging out of textile instead of gessoed, stretched, tamed and predictable canvas.

Just saying.

This is a sweater for Paula in Florida. Thank you Paula!!
